C-Clean Bio's success generates a new major customer

August 16, 2021

A cleaning assignment that was successfully carried out by our partner CR Asia Singapore (CRAS) some 2.5 years ago now has a nice sequel. Our commitment, the quality of our products, in particular our C-Clean Bio, and the famous word-of-mouth advertising have ensured that we have signed a fine contract with BP Australia.

As a reminder, in August 2011 CRAS performed a chemical cleaning of a 'Packinox' Combined Feed / Effluent heat exchanger at a refinery in Manila Bay, Philippines. This particular Packinox is part of the Continuous Catalytic Reformer Unit (CCR) and is the first ever to be cleaned under the responsibility of CR Asia. The Packinox is a very delicate device that consists of a welded plate bundle in a cylindrical pressure vessel. Overpressure in the plate bundle causes very serious damage. The manufacturer of these heat exchangers, Alva-Laval, was therefore very concerned and involved in the choice of cleaning method and type of chemicals used.

The client had informed CRAS that the chemical cleaning had to be focused on the removal of poly-aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The C-Clean Bio product by WVT Industries was used to perform this difficult task after consultation. The C-Clean Bio solution worked exceptionally well for the removal of hydrocarbons, and also for the removal of particularly large amounts of magnetite that had accumulated in the form of magnetic black powder.

Because the Packinox is such a fragile piece of equipment, but one that serves the petrochemical industry very well, the story of such successful cleaning naturally circulated in the world of hydrocarbons and related industries. Eventually, the news also reached some people in charge at BP Australia, who were looking for an efficient cleaning solution.

This order has a total value of around €350,000, which means another huge boost for our export business.
