Gaswash L VOC Free

DESCRIPTION:

Gaswash L VOC Free is a unique liquid absorber based on "green" components, intended for the absorption of non-polar organic components. The product is specifically developed for the capture of gaseous components, but it can also be used for liquid components.

FEATURES:

Gaswash L VOC Free is a VOC-free formulation, which also has no hazard classification according to CLP legislation. Therefore, the product is very safe to use, both for the user and the environment.

In addition, Gaswash L VOC Free has a very high flash point (> 120 °C), so there is no risk of flammability when using this product. The product does not release fumes/gases, so the use of a respirator is not required.

Since Gaswash L VOC Free is not water soluble, the application of this product will not affect the operation of an oil/water separator.

SCOPE:

Gaswash L VOC Free has a high absorption capacity for gaseous non-polar substances, and is therefore extremely suitable for use in gas washing plants.

Since the non-polar gases are retained and Gaswash L VOC Free does not contain any VOCs per se, the outflow after the scrubber will not contain any non-polar VOC components as long as the absorption capacity of the product is not exceeded.

This has been confirmed in laboratory and field tests, the results of which are shown in the table below:

Gaswash L VOC Free

As non-polar substances are no longer present in the air stream, the explosion limits of the outgoing air will also change. By removing the non-polar substances, the lower explosion limit (LEL-value) will increase, reducing the risk of explosive conditions, unless polar substances give rise to lower LEL-values. In the latter case, a 2-stage gas scrubber can be used, so that also the polar components are removed, resulting in an increase of the LEL-value.

USE:

For treatment of an air flow containing only non-polar gases:

In order to limit the release of non-polar gases, it is recommended to apply Gaswash L VOC Free undiluted in the scrubber. Since the absorption capacity depends on the type and amount of dust to be absorbed and on the flow rate through the scrubber, this should be examined on a product by product basis. We advise to set the rotational speed of the gas scrubber as low as possible to obtain a maximum contact time in order to achieve the most efficient removal of components. The absorption of the gases can be followed up by measuring the VOC emission after the gas scrubber. If it increases, the Gaswash L VC Free solution is saturated and should be replaced.

For handling a mixed airflow of polar-apolar gases:

In this case, it is recommended to carry out the treatment in a two-stage gas scrubber, whereby the first stage is intended for the capture of the polar components (O-Scent), followed by the second stage with Gaswash L VOC Free.

In this way, water-soluble components are also kept separate from the non-polar components, which considerably simplifies processing of the waste stream.

CONTROL:

Since no VOC is emitted when using Gaswash L VOC Free, a VOC measurement at the outlet of the scrubber can be used to monitor the absorption capacity of the liquid. As long as the VOC remains low, the Gaswash L VOC Free solution still has sufficient absorption capacity. If the VOC increases, the liquid is saturated and needs to be replaced. This way, the liquid can be used optimally, and premature replacement is avoided.
